A bit less weird ...

Got a bit stuck on chapter 12 and took time out to make this - I feel like I ought to know the story behind this, but it won't come out of my brain. I've used leftover scrapbook paper for the background and the rest is from collage sheets. I think I knew what it was about when I made it - the tape measure is about how we measure time, and the image is about capturing the way someone looked at a particular moment in time. I'm not completely sure! Maybe you know .... ?

My middle daughter rang up last night to tell me that she entered a piece of writing in an international competition and has just heard she is in the last 10!! Such a wonderful piece of affirmation for her, she says she feels like she's won just with that news. So happy for her.

A lovely ATC Rosie.
Perhaps you were thinking of a quote?
There is a quote, that I can't remember exactly and I've tried to google and find it but keep coming up with this these two ; which aren't the one I'm thinking about (and I have to go out now so can't look any further)
"Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away"
"beautiful and happy moments are our gauge of a life well lived"

The one I'm thinking about goes something like, Your life isn't measured in calendar days but by the moments of pleasure found along the way. I thought it was maybe a Helen Keller quote but I googled her quotes and didn't see it.

I like weirdness in art, and mixed media lends itself beautifully to weirdness don't you think?
Talk a walk on the weird wild side of art Rosie, it might kick start your storytelling for chapter 12!
Happy creating!

Love this, I like the idea of the measure of time. Congrats to your daughter on the top ten, hope she wins!
