NOW HOW DID THAT HAPPEN ...?

I swear I thought it was only about 10 days since I last posted, but when I came to look it was almost a month! Tut tut, but I'm here now, and I won't bother you with excuses .... Real Life overwhelmed me there for a while.

The background of this page was done with my trusty watersoluble crayons, and the borders are from a collage sheet I made some time ago. The clown image is a long-time favourite stamp from Invoke Arts, and the word "Art" is made by Hampton, and is one of the first stamps I ever bought years ago ....
I have these moments of doubt when I start to wonder if what I do is just colourful daubings of no particular worth or merit ... like you do. Then again, if the art journalling process helps me (and it does) and gives me pleasure (also true) then I guess it doesn't really matter why you do it, or how well, and its value is what it means to you ... not to mention YOU, if what I write about touches a nerve for you too?

Lord I am rambling something chronic today - which is because I'm tired, its been a busy weekend. The final decorative bits (you know I can hardly ever resist) and flowers are once again done with my Promarkers. What did I do before I had them?

Anyways - if you ever doubt that you're a true artist or that your journalling is important, then take it from me the answer is YES it is. It's just that sometimes we lose our way for a time and forget, but the main thing is that later it gets remembered! Like now for instance!

Yours ramblingly.,

You may ramble any way you choose, and we'll be delighted to read along - especially when it's as thoughtful and supportive as this. :) I love clowns and fools and jesters - such a wonderful image with lots of layers. Keep right on, sister. Oh, and I really must get some Promarkers...

i agree - as long as we derive pleasure from journaling - then how bad can it be?

I love the subject of your page. After all we do the stuff for ourselves. It is a great one

I don't consider what I do art (I know a lot of people who do similar stuff DO consider it art, and I'm not saying they are wrong, but I'll always be happier considering myself a crafter rather than an artist), neither do I kid myself it has any "value" - but I do thoroughly enjoy making it, and I enjoy getting blog comments on the pages I share.

Your art is most definitely worth doing, for yourself for your creativity and peace of mind and by sharing not only your art but little snippets of what is on your mind inspires others. I have been thinking along the same lines sometimes and it is nice to know I am not the only one.
Than you for sharing your ideas and allowing us to enjoy your artwork.

I really enjoyed reading your ramblings. I first saw your page as a thumbnail and I was so drawn to looking closer. I really like your unique style and, particularly, the way you write incorporated into your art. If I could journal like this, I would start and never stop. I think what you do here is inspiring! penny

I have not been journalling for long but I really do love getting 'lost' in my page whilst I am doing it!
Coming to your blog always makes me want to grab my paints and pens and start a new page. :-)
