WHAT'S ON THE OLD WORKDESK THEN

If it's Wednesday again, it must be time to reveal what I'm working on through the contents of my desk. If this means nothing to you then go to Julia's place and find out. So anyway, there's my trusty pink spotty mug - which I think gets into my desk picture just about every week. My new pink mat (now becoming increasingly grubby) is in full view, and so are my trusty basics - chalk inks, gel pens, Tim Holtz scissor and fine tip bottle of PVA. Oh, and glasses of course ... you squint a lot more as you age I've found!

You will correctly deduce that I'm working on another journal page - just one of the small ones this time, and this is going to be the final page in the process of working through something difficult. As you can see I'm about to "let it go" and move on ... You will also see scraps of patterned paper. Now I've got a lot of these because I'm also a scrapbooker, and have finally found a brilliant use for them now that I've taken up art journalling!
Thought I'd go in for another swing - the right this time, and show you the slim boxes in which I keep paper. Originally I stored all my paper by colour group, but gradually learned to buy papers not one sheet at a time but several from a particular range. Now I mainly file my purchases in scrap kits which I make up, and anything else goes in these boxes, mostly by manufacturer or range, and the last few still by colour. Specialised is reserved for holiday type papers such as Christmas, or baby boy/girl and so on.
My current storage obsession is how to make a home for my growing family of promarkers? If you have any interesting solutions I'd be glad to hear about them!

hello, thankyou for your lovely comment.

The dvd rack is from Ikea and was £7.99, the 3 racks next to it are also from Ikea, slightly narrower as they are cd racks,(£6.99) and house all my unmounted stamps.

I then used 14 white dvd cases, slipped a piece of paper with coloured swatches into the spine of each case.

Pop a case on every other shelf, and voila space for your pens.

here is a close up photo for you.

Lovely busy desk there and I like the journal. Thanks for your comment on my blog - I made my desk promarker storage for use when I am using my pens, I can carry it around the house and so use it upstairs and downstairs - when I am not going to use the pens I will probably put them back in their suitcase and pencilcases just in case they do need to be stored on their sides - I am not sure though as i keep seeing copics stored upright and in the shops a lot of packs of promarkers are stored upright too - I have put mine in the desk storage small tip down though as they are the tips I use most - hope all this makes sense!

Can you come and organise my work desk? You have a great storage system and its all pink lol my 5 year old niece would love it. I like the way you have cut out the words from patterned paper - very effective

organisation and storage is not my strong point! love the journal page, the background colours are fab.

Great storage idea - I love organisation - not that you'd know it looking at my desk sometimes!!

On another note - I hope you don't mind me asking, but I would be intrested to hear of any usefull websites/books on living with Fibromyalgia you may know of - my mum has been diagnsoed and we're trying to find natural/alternative ways of treating/coping rather than just reading about the symptoms which is all I've come across so far...

Happy WOYWW - Esther xx

That's what I like! :)) I know that some crafters store Promarkers in CD cases. If you'd like you can have a look at http://wiccababe.blogspot.com/2010/07/woyww-promarker-storage.html and her brilliant idea of Promarkers storage.

I've been here awhile. I got to looking at some of your previous posts and your art journal obsession. This page is quite colorful. So, do you like PINK?

Sorry, I don't own a single marker or pen, so I can't help with the storage question. Since I'm so late getting here, I guess I'd better be on my way.

Because I'm late, I have the luxury of pointing you in the direction of Darcy's WOYWW post for a pen/pencil holder idea. And then I lok properly and see she's told you about something else too! Love your WOMEN ATC too..the brown thing I think comes from our subliminal perception of vintage meaning sepia, definitely! Another fab journal page Rosie, I know loads of us and you know that letting it go is such a good thing for you, but also let me add, that the minute you decide to let it go, you're in control of it...and pouf, it's a gonner. Break out something pink - you're the winner!

I looked at your Atavar and I can't remember seeing your WoYWW before? but I love your photo

and then I read your post and all I can think is - 'six inches is just the right size' - so sorry if I have mortally offended,

but you have given me a good giggle (I'm actually old enough to know better)
